ลุง Jesse เขียนประวัติศาสตร์ของ data engineering ไว้แบบสั้น ๆ อ่าน 5 นาทีจบ แต่เห็นภาพชัดดี ว่าเกิดอะไรขึ้นมาบ้าง ตั้งแต่ MapReduce กับ HDFS ในปี 2004 จนถึงยุค data mesh ในปัจจุบัน

History is important for a few reasons. People who don’t know their history are doomed to repeat it. Some of you are new to this industry and would do well to understand what’s happened before.

นึกถึงฝั่ง devops ที่ตอนนี้เขาก็พูดๆ กันว่า ไม่จำเป็นต้องรู้ linux เยอะ เพราะใช้ cloud กันแล้ว

แต่ตอนปั่น container deployment, Dockerfile/entrypoint ก็ bash/linux ล้วนเลยนะนั่น :joy: แถมมี networking black magic ให้ปวดหัวเล่นอีก
